  I was really nervous because after driving 20+ years in the US, driving here felt so overwhelming and completely unfamiliar.
  
  He was very paitient and very quickly identified the areas I needed to focus on to drive safely and pass the practical driving exam. He even managed to teach me reverse bay park which I had never even attempted. The methods he teaches for maneuvers are super practical and useful. I now parallel park like a pro!

  John did what I once thought was impossible: he got me the point where I could pass my driving test. I'd had some bad experiences in the past - some quite distant, others less so - and they had made me even more anxious than I otherwise would have been. This was going to be my last attempt, and John didn't let me down.
  
  Unlike other instructors, at no point did John ever lose his temper or admonish me for something I'd done wrong. He is as a teacher should be: calm, patient, and always gives encouragement (and it was needed) rather than criticism. Not only that but he is a fine gentleman, always upbeat and talkative, and a real character to boot. I will miss him.

Oodles of patience to deal with my regular brain blips, lots of humour with regards to the fact that at 42 I still don't know my left from my right and all in all a pleasure to spend time with - it's like you're being taught by a mate rather than a stuffy old driving instructor. Lessons comprise of lots of driving and no lecturing. Totally upfront and honest with regards to your progress and whether you're ready to take your test or not, and instills in you the confidence to be a good driver when you're finally out on the open road all on your own. I took up driving again after a 20+ year gap, was quite nervous and had a previous experience when I was 17 which wasn’t good,(not a great instructor).John is really friendly which helps put you at ease ,he always has the radio on and that too was good at keeping me calm. After a few weeks it was more like driving with a good friend and I will miss our random chats on the way to bury about anything and everything lol! We went to bury for lessons, and I always drove there and back, which was great practice, and when you’ve had a few lessons this helps with your confidence building. I learnt something new every week, and this was a great way to learn, because if you don’t get a manoeuvre first time you do a different one another week and when you go back to the other one you find you can do it after all! This happened to me anyway, everyone’s experience is different of course, but this helped me not to get too frustrated with myself. I mostly booked block lessons of 10 hours and thought that these were good value for money. I passed my test in October this year, I couldn’t have done it without John and I mean that wholeheartedly. This has been a life –long goal for me and I now have achieved it with johns help and it feels amazing! I thoroughly recommend John if you are currently looking to take up lessons, you won’t be disappointed and with johns help you will pass your test, and be driving yourself about in no time!"}
